Goodbye 2010, Hello 2011

My how time has flown since our last update! Lots of things have come and gone so quickly that i dont even know where to start. First of all Australia lost the ashes. How could this happen? Easy, we played terrible and it was a no contest. Anyways dont get me started, i could write pages and pages and talk your ears off about it.

Our birthdays came and went by so quickly but we managed to celebrate them in our own unique ways. Kylie celebrated with her friends in a park in downtown Tusmore, while i was happy to watch the 36ers live on telly with a few brews.

It was a great day and we even had a game of cricket going which lasted most of the afternoon. I was wicketkeeper and as you can see, i did most of the work.

I was stoked to have my old mate Ashlea pop in to say hello and sniff what was going on.

Lots more to come!

Its been a good year....

Wow we didnt realise how quickly time has gone since we last updated this! Time is flying by quite quickly, its almost the end of 2010 and that means its time to visit Father Xmas in the magic cave. This got us thinking about the last 12 months of the Clintylie Adventures and what we have achieved, done and seen. Its safe to say that i have experienced more in the last 12 months that i have in the last 5 or 6 years and what makes that even better is that i got to share it all with my beautiful wife, Kylie.

So if we wind the clock back 18 months, we both decided it would be a great idea to buy backpacks and some warm clothes and venture to sunny (but freezing cold) Europe. After visiting a travel expo we knew exactly what we wanted to do and we spent the whole of 2009 saving and planning for the trip of a lifetime. Looking back now, we spent quite alot of time planning that and we dont regret a single thing as we learnt alot in that time. Fast Forward those 18 months and its exactly a year ago we waved goodbye to our loved ones and hopped on that jumbo jet bound for London.

this is what happens after a 9 hour flight when you know a 12 hour flight is about an hour away!

After joining the 24 day tour we made it to Venice where i could finally suprise Kylie by proposing to her on that famous gondola on the Grand Canal. It was hard work hiding the ring and keeping it a secret and it was worth it!

we still dont know what this says.

Since november 2009, we have spent 2 months in Europe, I got baptised at Grange jetty, celebrated an engagement party, planned a wedding, renovated a unit, got married!, moved into a house, built another house and then finally put our feet up!

Hard to believe that all happened in the last 12 months.

A few weeks ago we got to witness our friends Sarah and David tie the knot on a lovely saturday afternoon in October. It was a beautiful day and we were lucky enough to celebrate with them that night at their reception. We got to meet some very cool people and we had a great night! Hope you guys enjoyed your honeymoon!

David and Sarah in wedding cake figurine form.

Mum and Dad were also kind enough to help us with the gardening and to tidy the front yard up, thanks again for your help! Mum also brought over some of my early childhood toys that i loved as a kid and as i found out, still do! Ahh my Star Wars figurines.

"freeze Rebel Scum!"
"lets be friends instead eh?" "ok. you didnt have a gun anyways did you?"

Kylie and i stayed up late one saturday night playing Lego! (thanks again mum!) If you ever come visit us, youre now going to make something and add it to our little street we have made.

"wasup!"

"wassup!"
"wwwasssuup!"
"wwwassssssuuuup!"
"wwwwwaaaaassssssuuuuup!"

so whats next for us? good question. Its now that time of the year they call the silly season. We have several members of the family celebrating birthdays and we also have my cousin Liss visiting us all the way from Perth in 2 weeks. Speaking of Perth, Kylie and I have booked two weeks away early January to visit our lovely cousins, aunty and uncle in the West. It will be awesome to soak up some western australian sun. Early february will see us in Melbourne for Ely and Josh's wedding where we will also be fortunate enough to have a quick lemonade with our partners in crime, Reggie and Annika.
Oh yeah and its Christmas soon!!
More to come......

...and here we go!

So we have now made it to the other side of the fence where the grass is greener! We celebrated our big day nearly 2 months ago, relaxed on our honeymoon and we both are now back in the swing of things. To get to this point though, quite alot has happened!

Kylie was at work for just 3 days when it was time to facepaint at the adelaide show! During this time our good friend Nicole celebrated her 18th birthday party which we were unfortunately running late for. So late were we that as we were coming up to the front door we heard everyone inside about to pose for a group photo. Kylie decided to make the last chance effort to make the photo even though we hadnt even arrived yet. To our surprise as we came running through the door, everyone was facing our direction and due to the floor being extremely dusty (there was renovations going on to the building) Kylie slipped and became a human bowling bowl knocking over several guests, but got a strike! You know how sometimes you wish you had your video camera out just incase something funny happens? and if you send that video in to Australias funniest home videos, chances are you'd win first place? Well this was one of those moments. A moment which had most people muttering the words "What The???" A defining Kylie moment, this was the new Kylie Brice introducing herself to the world.

We had a great time at the party too! You are a special person Nicole, who deserves the best in what life has to offer! Thanks for asking us to be part of youre special night.

So it was time for Kylie and her mum to fly to Melbourne and facepaint at the show for 2 weeks. We had only been married for a few weeks and then we were apart for 2! Luckily for me, Jessie knew that id miss Kylie alot so she was kind enough to let me borrow her Nintendo Wii for a few days. I was blown away by her generosity, so much so that i became a pro in Wii tennis in no time! This passed the time very quickly and we were back together in no time!

While she was away we bought our first lawnmower! (thanks Shauna!)  Mum came round and helped tidy the garden and we trimmed the bushes and planted some veggies and herbs. (Which reminds me, i should water them) Heres a picture of me whipping the lawn (weeds) into a frenzy.

The Modbury Uniting Church U14 basketball team made it into their first grand final. Unfortunately they didnt get the win on the day but they did so well to get that far and to do their absolute best against a team who were pretty much twice the size of them! Theres always next season! The mens team which features Kylies bro, Dan, won theirs easily. Nice work bro!

We spent the october long weekend with the kids from modbury uniting youth in Mt Barker for Sayco. This is a christian camp for kids between the ages of 12 to 15. It was a great weekend, lots of funny moments, learning experiences and the kids got really into it. We came back totally exhausted but with a smile on our dial.

Halfway through the weekend, daylight saving kicked in and we lost another hour sleep to the many others we already missed =P

After surviving the Mt Barker weekend, we invited Jessie around for dinner and seeing it was her birthday recently, we decided she could have whatever she wanted for dinner. She chose vegetarian nachos and what a great choice that was. Kylie whipped the kitchen into a frenzy and came up with some pretty tasty nachos! I couldnt get them into my belly quick enough!

We had a chocolate fondue for dessert too! Good choices Jessie and thanks Kylie for everything! The next day the girls went and saw the movie, Diary of a Wimpy Kid.

Jessie then invited us to her birthday party at her house and we had a lot of fun there too! We got to decorate our own cupcakes and gingerbread stars and men with help from our friend Belinda. Kylie made this cool star...

I made this gingerbread star...

heres a closeup of my cupcake....

thanks Jessie, we had a great night and we know you did too with your friends.

Things are moving along nicely so far and in the last few days we have recieved some good news! The house i was building out at Elizabeth has finally been completed and i made the trip out there to pick up the keys.

It was a great experience walking through the front door and down the hallway enjoying the "new house smell".

This weekend our good friends david and Sarah finally tie the knot. How exciting!
more to come.....
