Back in the UK

We are now in London! We finished our top deck tour on the saturday just gone and after abit of a rush to find some last minute accomodation (we had nowhere to stay!!) we now have a little apartment just outside central London in a borough called Barking.

It was a great experience not knowing where we were going to sleep that night & we did very well as a team to sort it out. In the process Kylie helped 3 other people find somewhere to stay which was very inspiring!

To get from A to B we are using the tube (subway or metro) alot and sometimes we are catching up to 4 trains! Its very easy to use tho and we have become pros, i mean if we can use the metro in Hungary and the Czech Republic where nothing is in english, we can do anything!!

Its very cold here and we had our first crappy London weather day...no snow yet. Altho it could be worse, it could be 40 degrees :P

We had our first free sunday so we went to a Pentecostal church in Barking. It was so refreshing being in a community of people worshiping God. The people were very welcoming, lots of children and families and the music was very upbeat.

Bright and early monday morning we made the journey from one side of London to the other to visit the Lords Cricket Ground. I was very excited and i got goosebumps when i saw the gates. (cricket doesnt excite kylie one bit and clearly she did this for me...what a champ!)

We did a tour of the members area, the pavilion, the new media centre and we got to sit in the players changerooms which is nothing like a footy locker room! Altho the grandstands etc are quite modern, the ground and the history dates back to the very early 1800's. It was very interesting to see the 2.5m slope across the ground!!

I was spewing that the aussies lost the ashes in june this year but if they had won, i wouldnt have been able to see the ashes themselves so that was lucky! We did see the original ashes urn on display.

Around the corner from Lords is the famous pedestrian crossing used for the Beatles album cover, Abbey Road. We had lots of fun trying to get photos of us at the crossing except we didnt realise this was a very busy road!! We got a photo of both of us on it and we had to be quick about it as we angered some motorists...hehe. Nearby is the beatles cafe which sells lots of memorabilia which we couldnt help buy a few things from.

Today we are having a quiet day to catch up on washing and sleeping and tonight we are going to a jazz club to catch up with Lora and her friends. Tomorrow we are gonna have a go on the London eye and then take some more corny photos at the wax museum!!

Thursday we are off to edinburgh, Scotland.
